Desert Rose

I stopped in at lookout Studio the other night to say hello to my fellow work mates and stumbled across something i’ve never seen before. They have for sale Desert Rose, which Jesse explained to me something about Gypsum and from dried up seabeds, i’m actually not too sure my head cold was in full force and thats all the notes i typed in my phone about it 😀

Wiki doesnt say much but i copied some:

“The rosette crystal habit tends to occur when the crystals form in arid sandy conditions, such as the evaporation of a shallow salt basin. Gypsum roses usually have better defined, sharper edges than barite roses.”
