Leavin…. on a jet plane

What happens when there are monsoon storms over Phoenix. You wait in a long line of airplanes taking off either every 7 miles apart or 7 minutes apart.

A rainbow for us, a good sign i would say. Neither of us had flown in forever!

The ridiculousness of Sky Mall.

Louisville Skyline – UPS Air Traffic and Star Trails

Everyone knows Louisville gets a lot of air traffic at night due to UPS having its main hub here. I’ve been trying to get a good city skyline picture of Louisville with star trails in the sky but realized tonight with Louisville’s air traffic at night it’s going to be next to impossible trying to get a picture without any “noise”. The shots I got tonight though turned out pretty cool considering. Really puts it into perspective on how many planes come in at night. This first shot was 22 minutes long.

I  went down to the far end of the park to get skyline shots with star trails behind them and obviously that didn’t really work. I checked weather.com and it stated the clouds wouldn’t roll in til around 330am. I started taking timed shots with the Coolpix8800 at 1:15am.. and the clouds started coming in at 1:34a.m. which sucks cause its going to rain and storm and all that jazz, and then its going to be a full moon and such and I won’t be able to get the star trail pictures til the end of Jan. when there’s a new moon out. Oh well.. enough complaining!…
