So many times I see other photographer’s photographs of the Grand Canyon and I think to myself…God i suck at this photography thing. I haven’t went to college, I haven’t taken a photography class, I wasn’t even part of the yearbook staff in high school. Well sometimes i come across a photo that I believe is super pretty and I think to myself.. I took that. This is one of those moments. 🙂

Ai Weiwei: According to What? at the Indianapolis Museum of Art
Ai Weiwei: According to What? also includes a new sculpture made from steel rebar that was salvaged from schools that collapsed during the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. The piece points to the inferior construction that caused the government-built schools to collapse while other buildings remained unscathed. Straight (2008–2012) is a powerful indictment of the Chinese government and a monumental reminder of the many young people who died in the earthquake.

Leavin…. on a jet plane
What happens when there are monsoon storms over Phoenix. You wait in a long line of airplanes taking off either every 7 miles apart or 7 minutes apart.
A rainbow for us, a good sign i would say. Neither of us had flown in forever!
The ridiculousness of Sky Mall.

A Dixie kindof birthday
Dixie recently turned the age of over the hill and refused to have her house decorated with gravestones. She instead opted for jello shots, a live band, a bouncie house, and a cartoon character drawer. Go Dixie Go!
And last but not least, another picture of my boyfriend refusing to have his photograph taken.
I mean seriously, he thinks if he gives me the finger, i wont publish them. lol does he know me at all? :p hehehe
the pretty pretty clouds of June 28th
This is my space at Watchtower =P
Photostitching hell! lol
So recently I went to Watchtower to drop off an order of photography and decided i wanted an entire view photograph of the ceiling inside. I took like 70 photos of the ceiling during the busy part of the day which was a bit silly to be honest! I sat on the floor and positioned my camera above me and stayed very stoically for a good 25 minutes waiting for people to pass through and out of my lens for each shot. It was intense.
The photo i sell currently at Watchtower looks like this:
The photo I am stitching together is a little bit wider of a view…
I stopped working on it for a bit because I think I need to go back and take the photos again, this time with no one in the Watchtower so I wont have to blend my lines together, that’s so much work!
It was raining tonight
We finally had a first real rain tonight. At my house it lasted a good 5 minutes even! When the lightning started hitting in the distance I grabbed my camera with the dead battery and headed to the rim up Hermit’s Road. I stopped at Powell Point like all sane people that do not want to be struck by lightning do lol. I’m not sure why I choose the location to walk so far away from my vehicle, but I did. Didn’t I learn my lesson last monsoon season?
I did atleast catch the end of a rainbow when I got up to the top of
Hermit’s Road.
And last, after my camera battery died, on the walk back, I got this precious moment with my IPhone =P
I haven’t really taken photos in awhile, I will for sure have to remember to put my tripod in the truck next time, and of course charge my batteries !
Live Music
I tried my hand at taking photos of a live band on 4th of July at Big E’s Steakhouse in Tusayan, Arizona. The band was great, the pictures were pretty fun. Next I must invest in more lenses for my camera ASAP!
